Veneers fix what whitening and aligners cannot

If you recognise yourself in one of these, you are likely a candidate.

  • Stains whitening won’t lift

Tetracycline, fluorosis or deep internal discoloration.

  • Chips and worn edges

Teeth shortened by grinding or old bonding that keeps breaking.

  • Gaps between teeth

Closed in one week, without years of aligners.

  • Uneven size or shape

Small, peg-shaped or mismatched front teeth.

  • Mild crowding or rotation

When a straighter look matters more than moving roots.

Why Xiluet veneers

Thin enough to keep your teeth. Strong enough to last.

Our veneers are hand-finished by a ceramist in the same building as your doctor. That is why we can go thinner, match shade in person, and deliver in days instead of weeks.

  • MaterialZirconiaOur porcelain is layered over a zirconia core: a metal-free ceramic that resists chips and stains and keeps its color for years.
The material

German zirconia, finished by hand

For Smile Design the zirconia is cut to 0.3 mm veneers and layered with translucent porcelain where it shows, which is how a veneer this thin still lasts. Every veneer, crown and bridge we make is zirconia milled from German-made discs and finished by our ceramist in the same building as your doctor. Three things that changes:

A multilayer zirconia disc on its edge showing five bands from warm ivory to translucent white, next to a single-shade lithium disilicate ingot and a thin translucent wafer
The color

Built into the material, not painted on

Our discs come with five layers of shade: warmer at the gum, more translucent toward the edge. On front teeth the ceramist adds surface texture and enamel effects by hand, on top of a gradient that is already there.

vs e.max: A single-shade block. The translucent edge has to be cut back and added as an extra layer, one more step and one more joint that can chip.

The edge

Finished at the gum line, not under it

Zirconia does not discolor, so the edge can sit where it is visible, cleaned and sealed. The fibers that attach your gum to the tooth stay intact, which is what keeps gum and bone where they are.

vs e.max: The edge is often buried under the gum to hide the cement line. Edges under the gum are linked to inflammation, recession and bone loss over time.

The fit

Seated and sealed by hand

Milled crowns rarely fit straight off the machine. Each one is adjusted under magnification with fine burs until it seats without pressure, then the margin is polished into a closed seal that keeps bacteria out.

vs e.max: A crown forced into place leaves a gap you cannot see. It is the first thing we check at delivery, whatever the material.

  • Strength2×1,000 to 1,200 MPa against about 470 for e.max. Takes back teeth and grinders.
  • Tooth removed0.3 mmVeneers 0.3 mm, crown walls 0.5 mm. An e.max crown needs 1.0 mm.
  • Designed for20 yearse.max is typically 10 to 15, with chipping the usual reason to replace it.

Zirconia vs lithium disilicate (e.max)

Zirconia at Xiluet SmilesLithium disilicate (e.max)
StrengthAbout 1,000 to 1,200 MPa. Takes the bite of back teeth and grinders.About 470 MPa, the manufacturer's figure. Chips more often under heavy load and in bridges.
Crowns: tooth removed0.5 mm walls, so less of your tooth is cut away.1.0 mm walls with adhesive cementation. More reduction.
Veneers: tooth removed0.3 mm, and on some teeth none.0.3 mm is possible; most labs ask for 0.5 to 0.7 mm.
Where the edge sitsAt the gum line, where it can be seen, cleaned and kept sealed. The gum attachment and bone underneath are left alone.Often placed under the gum to hide the cement line. Edges under the gum are linked to inflammation, recession and bone loss over time.
Shade and translucencyFive layers built into the disc: warmer at the gum, more translucent toward the edge. The gradient is in the material itself.A single-shade block. Translucency at the edge has to be cut back and added by hand as an extra layer, one more step and one more interface that can chip.
Color over timeDoes not stain or change shade. The porcelain is stable; the bonded edge can pick up stain over the years.
Expected lifespanDesigned for 20 years. 5-year written warranty.10 to 15 years is typical; chipping is the usual reason for replacement.

Strength figures are the manufacturers' biaxial flexural values for 3Y zirconia and IPS e.max; thickness minimums are the manufacturers' published guidance. How long any restoration lasts depends on bite, gum health and care. Our warranty terms are written into every plan.

Zirconia veneers vs e.max veneers: the real truth

Zirconia is two to three times stronger, keeps more tooth under a crown and holds its edge at the gum line. Where e.max is still the honest choice.

Smile Design and veneer questions, answered by the doctors

All answers →

What is the difference between Smile Design and veneers?

Veneers are the material. Smile Design is our package of 20 porcelain veneers planned on your face: the digital design, the preview you approve in your mouth, the veneers, the cleaning and X-rays, and the 5-year warranty, for one written price.

Dr. Roger Ramos Navarro, DMD

Do veneers hurt?

Most patients feel pressure, not pain. The area is numbed for preparation, and mild sensitivity usually settles within a few days.

Dr. Roger Ramos Navarro, DMD

How much of my tooth is removed?

With 0.3 mm veneers, usually very little and sometimes none. Your doctor confirms this at Visit 1 after the scans.

Dr. Marta Puentes Marrero, DMD

Will they look fake?

Not if they are designed for your face. You see and approve the design before any tooth is prepared, and shade is matched in person.

Dr. Gretell Alonso Fiel, DMD

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With normal care, 10 to 15 years is typical. Ours are covered for 5 years in writing, and a night guard is recommended if you grind.

Dr. Roger Ramos Navarro, DMD

Can I really do this in one week?

Yes. Our lab is in the same building, so design, preparation and delivery happen across 3 visits in as little as 4 business days.
