Short answer
A veneer warranty is a written promise to repair or replace a veneer that fails under normal use within a set period. Among Miami practices that publish prices, most offer no warranty or 1 year. Xiluet Smiles gives 5 years, in writing, handed to you at your final visit. It covers the veneer; normal care and a night guard if you grind are expected. Always ask for the written terms before you pay a deposit.

What a veneer warranty is, and what it is not
A warranty is not a promise that nothing will ever happen to your veneers. It is a promise about who pays if something does. Porcelain veneers are among the most predictable things in dentistry, with pooled data on more than 6,500 veneers showing 95.5% survival at 10 years. But a small number fracture or come loose, and when that happens the question is simple: do you pay again, or does the practice?
Where warranties exist in dentistry, they typically cover cracks, chips and debonding under normal use, and exclude trauma and neglect. The useful part is what each practice writes down. A warranty that is only mentioned in conversation is not a warranty. It is a mood.
What Miami practices offer in 2026
We read the veneer pages of the Miami practices that rank for veneers and veneer cost in October 2026. Most state no warranty at all. Some describe "lifetime support" or a "satisfaction guarantee" without saying what that means or for how long. The longest explicit veneer warranty we found elsewhere in Miami was one year. These are published offers and they change, so ask every practice for theirs in writing.
| Common in Miami | Xiluet Smiles | |
|---|---|---|
| Warranty on porcelain veneers | None, or 1 year | 5 years |
| In writing | Rarely | Yes, handed over at Visit 3 |
| Who made the veneer | Outside lab, often out of state | Ceramist in the same building |
| Who repairs it | Depends | The doctor who placed it |
| Small adjustments if you live out of town | Ask | Honored by any dentist; video check-in two weeks after delivery |
Why is one year the norm? Because when a veneer is made by an outside laboratory, a remake costs the practice a new lab fee of roughly $200 to $800 per tooth, plus shipping and chair time. A long warranty is a real financial risk for them. Keeping it short, or not offering one, is the easy way out.
When veneers actually fail, and why that matters for the term
The same 10-year review found that the most common failures are fracture and then debonding, and that they cluster in the first two years. A veneer that survives its first two years is very likely to go the distance; 10-year survival considering fracture alone was 96.3%, and 99.3% of veneers were still caries-free at the margins.
That is the problem with a one-year warranty. It expires in the middle of the window where early problems show up. A five-year term covers the whole early-failure period and the first years of normal wear, which is where a bonding or fit issue would surface if there were one.
The other thing the data says is that veneers bonded to enamel last longer. In a 15-year study of 672 veneers, those bonded mostly to enamel survived 96.7% versus 93.9% when more dentin was exposed. That is why we prepare 0.3 mm veneers with very little, sometimes no, tooth removal, confirmed at Visit 1. Conservative preparation is not only kinder to your teeth. It is what makes a five-year warranty a safe promise to make.
What a written warranty should state
Before you pay a deposit anywhere, ask for the warranty document and check that it answers these questions. If any answer is "we'll take care of you", ask again.
- How long, from which date. Delivery day is the normal start.
- What counts as a failure: fracture, chip, debonding, a veneer that comes off. Cosmetic complaints and changes you request later are a separate conversation.
- What you get: repair or replacement, and whether you pay any lab fee, chair time or materials.
- What is expected of you: normal home care, routine checkups, and a night guard if you grind. Ask whether missing these voids the warranty.
- What it excludes: trauma, accidents, and in most cases work by another dentist. Ask about the specific exclusions.
- If you live out of town: who you call, whether a local dentist can do small adjustments, and when you need to come back.
- Who signs it. The practice, with the date and your name on it.
Our terms are given to you in writing at Visit 3, with the veneers. Ask your coordinator for a copy before you book if you want to read them first. In short: the warranty covers the veneer for five years; normal care and a night guard if you grind are expected.
Why an in-house lab makes five years possible
Our ceramist works in the same building as our doctors. Three things follow from that. First, the doctor who prepares your teeth and the person who makes your veneers look at the same scans and photos, check the shade in person, and adjust before anything is bonded, so fewer veneers need remaking later. Second, if one does need remaking, there is no outside lab fee to absorb. Third, the person who repairs or replaces it is the one who made it, with your original design file.
A five-year warranty is affordable for us because our failure cost is low, not because we have budgeted for a lot of failures. The same logic is why the Complete Restoration and full mouth reconstruction packages carry the same 5-year written warranty on crowns, bridges and veneers. For All-on-X, ask for the written terms for the implants and the bridge separately. They are different parts with different lifespans.
A warranty is a price the practice puts on its own confidence. If they will not write it down, they have told you what they think it is worth.
How a claim works if you flew in for your veneers
Many of our veneer patients fly in and go home on Thursday evening. The common fear is "what if something happens when I am back home?" It is a fair question, and the answer should be in your warranty, not improvised later.
- Two weeks after delivery: a video check-in with your doctor, included.
- Small adjustments: your warranty is honored by any dentist for minor adjustments, so you do not fly for a bite tweak.
- A chip, fracture or veneer that comes off: message your coordinator with a photo. The doctor who placed your veneers decides what is needed and books you. The clinic is 15 minutes from MIA, so a repair visit is a short trip, not a second treatment.
- Wear your night guard: if you grind, the night guard is part of normal care, and the warranty expects you to wear it.
Compare that with a package abroad, where a warranty claim means another international flight and a clinic you cannot reach by phone in your language. Read how the Monday-to-Thursday week is organized on the out-of-state patients page, and what the $6,000 package includes on the cost article.
What to do next
Send three photos through the free photo evaluation. You get a written estimate within 6 hours, and you can ask your coordinator for the warranty terms at the same time. The price, the timeline and the warranty are all on paper before you book a flight. That is the whole point.
Related questions
Do veneers come with a warranty?
Sometimes. Among the Miami practices that publish prices, most offer none, and the longest explicit veneer warranty we found elsewhere in Miami was one year. Xiluet Smiles gives five years, in writing, handed over at Visit 3.
What does the Xiluet 5-year warranty cover?
The veneer itself, for five years from delivery. Normal home care, routine checkups and a night guard if you grind are expected. Ask your coordinator for the written terms; you receive a copy with your veneers.
What if a veneer chips after I fly home?
Send a photo to your coordinator. Small adjustments are honored by any dentist. For a repair or replacement, the doctor who placed your veneers books you, and the clinic is 15 minutes from MIA.
Why do most Miami practices only offer one year?
With an outside lab, a remake costs the practice a new lab fee of roughly $200 to $800 per tooth plus shipping. A long warranty is a real cost for them. Our ceramist is in the building, so our remake cost is low.
Does a night guard really matter?
Yes. Fracture is the most common way veneers fail, and grinding is a common cause. If you grind, a night guard is part of normal care, and your warranty expects you to wear it.
